Jared has been with Dauby O’Connor & Zaleski, LLC and specialized in the real estate industry since 2010. Jared’s portfolio of clients includes not-for-profit corporations, multifamily housing developers, real estate limited partnerships, construction companies, and property management organizations, among others.
Since joining DOZ, Jared has prepared and reviewed numerous audits of limited liability companies, corporations, partnerships, and not-for-profit entities owning a wide variety of real estate developments. These audits have been prepared for HUD, RD, state housing agencies, and various debt and equity providers. He has also prepared and/or reviewed numerous 10% carryover certifications necessary for carryover allocations as well as final cost certifications across multiple state agencies for issuance of IRS form(s) 8609. Furthermore, Jared has prepared and reviewed numerous agreed-upon procedures reports detailing qualified and non-qualified expenditures to support state tax credits from numerous states and various programs, including historic rehabilitation tax credits to be claimed under IRC Section 47.
Jared has participated in numerous committees at DOZ, including the Quality Control Committee. In this position, he assisted the Director of Quality Control in monitoring the firm’s compliance and quality with HUD, the AICPA, state boards of accountancy, state statutes, the U.S. Government Accountability Office, and any other applicable regulators. Jared also assists with the firm’s internal inspection program and monitoring technical developments affecting the firm’s accounting and auditing practice.
Jared stays current and knowledgeable of the affordable housing industry and the continually changing regulatory environment by attending continuing education classes and conferences, researching trends in the industry, and compiling industry data on an ongoing basis. Jared also shares the knowledge he obtains from research and conferences with other DOZ staff by leading various trainings for the firm each year.
