Experience
Kevin’s professional career began in public accounting. He has worked with Dauby O’Connor
& Zaleski, LLC since the beginning, resulting in a robust foundation of knowledge built around
the real estate industry. He has prepared and reviewed tax returns in varying structures for individuals, limited liability companies, partnerships, C corporations, S corporations and not-
for-profit entities, and is familiar with the tax credits common to the industry such as the IRC section 42 LIHTC and the IRC section 47 rehabilitation credit. While Kevin’s experience is
diverse, his primary focus is on the complexities of partnership taxation and its impact to
investors.
As a member of DOZ’s Tax Technical Division, Kevin frequently contributes to the analysis of
federal & state legislation, complex transactions, and proposed structuring. His extensive
knowledgebase is consistently being developed through industry related research, which
Kevin utilizes to coach, mentor and develop colleagues.
Kevin also spends significant time on process improvement, where he utilizes both his
technical background and strong Excel skills to create, enhance and automate processes
within the firm. He leads the design and implementation of workpapers, projections, and
financial models, and has worked together with both real estate developers and syndicators
to boost efficiencies with respect to equity models that generate a profusion of outputs based
on a limited number of user inputs.
In his free time Kevin can be found putting his hands to work around the house, following the
musical arts, or traversing the Colorado Rockies – either by foot or ski.
