Experience

Matt is an Tax Principal at DOZ. Matt began his career in 2012 at a regional accounting firm in Fort Lauderdale, Florida prior to moving to Indianapolis and joining Dauby, O’Connor & Zaleski in December of 2014. Since then, Matt has gained considerable experience in the affordable housing industry, with focuses on real estate developments that utilize Low Income Housing Tax Credits pursuant to Internal Revenue Code Section 42. He is experienced in the complexities of credit compliance including initial year credit calculations. Additionally, Matt is involved in other tax returns for both for-profit and not-for-profit development, construction, and management companies. Matt also utilizes his prior experience to assist with various tax returns that are not real estate related.  

Matt assists with all functions of the tax return engagement. These duties include overseeing staff and ensuring that accurate tax returns are prepared, as well as making sure that all client, investor, and compliance deadlines are met. He has prepared and reviewed tax returns for individuals, partnerships, limited liability companies, corporations, and not-for-profit entities.

Matt earned both his bachelor’s degree in accounting and Master of Taxation degree from Florida Atlantic University and is licensed in Indiana as a certified public accountant.
